I'm Mauro Borges. I'm an IMI Level 3 qualified vehicle technician with more than 10 years on the tools, and I still run my own mobile mechanic business, MB Auto Solutions, in Ramsgate, Kent.

MB Auto Solutions offers specialist mechanical repairs on the customer's driveway, and has earned more than 170 five-star reviews across Google and ClickMechanic. A big part of that is the app I built to run it: it keeps every job, quote and customer in one place, and gives my customers a smoother experience from booking to payment.

Why I built 10mil

Most garage software is built for garages: bays, a reception desk and someone in the office. As a mobile mechanic I had none of that. What I did have was a phone, a van, and a stack of subscriptions: long contracts and expensive monthly fees for software that was never designed for the way a mobile mechanic works. I got fed up paying for tools that didn't fit.

So I built the one I wanted: quote on the spot, book the job, invoice and get paid before I drive away, and remind customers when their MOT is due. No long contract, and the core business system is free. I use it every day in my own business.

Why "10mil"?

Open any mechanic's toolbox and you'll find a 10mm socket. It's the one you reach for on almost every job, from battery terminals to undertrays. 10mil is named after it, because that's what we want the app to be: the tool every mechanic has and uses every day.
